Spotlight: VanRoekel announces Technology Fellows Program
The CIO Council unveiled the Technology Fellows Program in an announcement by Federal Chief Information Officer Steven VanRoekel Sept. 13 in a White House blog post. The program fulfills another reform item from the Office of Management and Budget's 25-point plan to reform federal information technology.
The program seeks to build a "more sustainable talent pool" for managing government IT programs, wrote VanRoekel. It will also "break down some of the bureaucratic barriers that slow hiring and presents young people with a prestigious option when coming out of their respective graduate programs."
The program will be part of the Presidential Management Fellows Program.
