The Federal Communications Commission launched a new website this week. For the new site, now available in beta, FCC chose to host content on the cloud and use the popular open source web content management system Drupal--a solution also tapped for the WhiteHouse.gov, House.gov and Energy.gov redesigns.

"Now architected with a more intuitive user experience and the addition of Web 2.0 technologies, the new site improves and simplifies the FCC.gov experience for consumers, government, public safety agencies and the business community," wrote the agency in a statement.

The redesign marks the first major update to the site in ten years and updates to the website will continue through 2011. FCC.gov Managing Director Steven VanRoekel, will be posting updates on the redesign on Twitter at @stevenvfcc. The agency is also seeking additional public input on the website.

Visit the beta of the new website or provide the FCC with feedback on the FCC.gov relaunch.
