Pentagon's huge $300 billion project hacked
It seems that nothing is safe from computer thieves these days. And that certainly is the case with the latest report from the Wall Street Journal that computer spies broke into the Pentagon's most expensive weapons program ever.
The program is the Joint Strike Fighter Project, according to the report. And many details weren't made available, including how much damage has been done to the U.S. defense program.
The Joint Strike Fighter is the most sophisticated program the Pentagon has ever attempted, according to the article. It relies on more than 7.5 million lines of computer code.
Two things are clear: The computer spies were able to download a lot of data related to the jet fighter, however, they couldn't get to the most sensitive material that is stored on computers not connected to the Internet.
