President Obama has yet to name his White House cybersecurity czar, but Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Robert Lentz said just one cyber overseer may not be enough.

In a speech at the Black Hat USA conference in Las Vegas, Lentz said there should be a second high-ranking official named to deal with problems and risks associated with anonymity on the Internet.

"In my opinion, there needs to be a cyberczar just for identity," Lentz said. "Without that, we're going to be done." He added that reducing anonymity is essential to ensuring security and resiliency on the Internet.

Lentz also called for deployment of risk-based access control, and increased ability to "authenticate ourselves to the Net [and in] the cloud."
