Obama wants tougher cybersecurity
The White House on Friday published a 60-day review of the nation's digital infrastructure as President Obama warned that the United States is not as prepared as it should be in dealing with an issue that has become so critical.
The report has been anticipated for the last two months as the administration worked out its plans to toughen cybersecurity and protect critical infrastructure against increasingly hostile cyber attacks across the government's computer systems.
The report warned that the U.S. computer systems were frail, lacking security and resilience.
"Without major advances in the security of these systems or significant change in how they are constructed or operated, it is doubtful that the United States can protect itself from the growing threat of cybercrime and state-sponsored intrusions and operations," the report said.
Obama said Friday that terrorist attacks could come from my different kinds of sources, including "a few keystrokes on the computer," according to an article in The Wall Street Journal.
