President Obama is looking for help in reducing the large backlog of unresolved veteran claims. The president announced plans on Monday for employees with the VA's Veterans Benefits Administration to suggest, through a web-based computer program, how to reduce the department's backlog.

VA officials will work with Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra, Chief Performance Officer Jeffrey Zients and Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra to pick the best suggestions for reducing the backlog, and will implement them by the end of the year.

The goal is "cut those backlogs, slash those wait times and deliver your benefits sooner," Obama told the Veterans of Foreign Wars at their national convention in Phoenix.

This president likes results. In June, he deployed Kundra, Zients and Chopra to help the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to launch a new website that gives immigration applicants updates on their status with text messages or email. The new site launches in a few weeks.
