mplementation of the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace is moving forward with the identity ecosystem steering group planning its first in-person meeting the week of August 13, said the NSTIC program office in a June 29 blog post.
"The Steering Group itself will be a private organization--set up as a .org, not a .gov--but funded for an initial 24 month period by the government," officials wrote.
The NSTIC program office will also soon announce the organization that will serve as the "formal convener and Secretariat" of the steering group, said the post.
The program office published June 29 the NSTIC recommended charter, draft by-laws and the draft membership agreement for use by the steering group. It also issued a frequently asked questions document explaining the time and resources that will be required of organizations participating in the steering group.
On July 6 the program office announced it would host a July 12 webinar to provide an overview of the proposed governance documents that will guide the soon-to-be-established steering group before its initial meeting in August.
