National Archives loses Clinton-era data

The National Archives has a very big cyber disaster on its hands. It lost a computer hard drive containing massive amounts of sensitive data from the Clinton administration.

The information includes Social Security numbers, addresses and Secret Service and White House operating procedures, according to members of Congress who disclosed the loss on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for the National Archives said it's preparing to notify those impacted by the breach. That includes former President Bill Clinton, and one of former vice president Al Gore's three daughters.

"The drive contains an as yet unknown amount of personally identifiable information of White House staff and visitors," the spokeswoman said in a statement.
