Kundra's blog joins the IT dashboard

It's been just two weeks since Federal CIO Vivek Kundra launched the Federal IT dashboard. But he's not sitting idle. On Monday, he launched a blog to go along with the dashboard, a remarkable follow-up for those who are still used to the sedentary federal government.

"[W]e can't simply make this an exercise in federal agency reporting," Kundra says on the blog. "That is why we started this blog. We want to hear from you about what works and what doesn't with the site. Is there a more innovative approach that an investment should consider? Does the contract data look incorrect to you? Is there an application that we should add? This is a site to serve you, and to do that, we need to hear from you."

So far, the first-ever federal CIO has had enormous success in what he's been doing. The IT Dashboard has received more than 20 million hits to date. Plenty of other government agencies can take a few lessons from Kundra's example.
