Interest on mobile device exploitation ramps up in intelligence community

A Dec. 12 Defense Intelligence Agency request for information shows interest in mobile devices ramping up in the intelligence community. The DIA, the RFI says, needs contractors to support its ability to collect and exploit mobile devices, including "custom solutions that allows exploitation of mobile devices not commonly seen or devices not supported by commercial kits or tools."

The RFI, which also calls for information on exploitation of digital media, assumes overall that the capabilities worth knowing about would be portable. The overall point, the RFI says, it to permit the DIA to acquire electronic media devices, "conduct screening and exploitation of these devices, in addition to translate, analyze, and report on the information/intelligence derived from these devices."
