Intel agencies open up on the web

The Intelligence community is joining the party for greater transparency in government.

Although there is plenty of information that is being kept secret, Intel agencies are using the web just like other federal agencies to get the word out about what they do. It's not just the FBI and CIA that's becoming more public. An article in InformationWeek identifies other secret agencies that are opening up on the web.

> The National Security Agency includes links to declassified information, how to do business with the NSA and even a section for kids.

> Intelligence.gov is a site geared toward recruiting new employees with links to the employment pages of other intelligence sites. It lists the 17 government agencies that comprise the U.S. Intel community.

> The National Counterterrorism Center, at NCTC.gov, includes links to the center's terrorist incident tracking system and a chart showing emergency responders how far back people have to be moved in the event of a bomb threat.

InformationWeek outlines the Intel agencies and their sites in a slideshow.
