A group of top-level CIOs representing the CIA, the National Security Agency, the FBI and the Defense Department convened last week to share ideas on a range of topics. Reports in BisNow and Information Week said DoD Deputy CIO Dave Wennergren described how the Pentagon is moving toward cloud computing so it can eliminate redundant infrastructure across the various branches of the military. CIA CIO Al Tarasiuk said the intelligence agency has 1,000 virtualized servers, while FBI CIO Dean Hall told how the law enforcement agency FBI is upgrading its desktops and network applications.
