A survey released last week by ScienceLogic, an IT operations management provider, has found that federal government network engineers, systems administrators and IT managers remain uncertain about the use of cloud computing. About 42 percent said cloud computing was important, while 19 percent were unimpressed and 40 percent either did not know or could not answer, reports VMblog.
The survey also found virtualization remains a topic of great interest as well as Green IT and Web 2.0. The survey found that Green IT is important to over 60 percent of agency IT workers, but fewer than 11 percent actually have energy-efficient or power-saving solutions in place.

FISMA remains a major federal technology trend. Nearly 90 percent of IT departments feel FISMA is important. Adoption continues to climb and over half of all agencies have taken the necessary steps to meet the mandate.
