SPOTLIGHT: DoD: Troops, family members can log onto social networks
The DoD has made an about face in its policy against social networks. It will allow troops and their families to use social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, on its unclassified networks, nextgov.com reports. A DoD memo said this new policy recognizes that "emerging Internet-based capabilities offer both opportunities and risks that need to be balanced in ways that provide an information advantage for our people and mission partners."
