DoD primer on web behavior

The military is all about order, rules and procedures, so it should come as no surprise it has issued a primer for service members, civilian employees and military family members on how to act "safely, respectfully, and within the law when you are on the Internet."  Here are some the DoD's guidelines operating on social networks and other online sites:

> "Discussing personal experiences from your line of work on social networks is OK, but identify yourself and your DoD affiliation, and do not claim to speak on behalf of the department."

> Classified Information: "Do not post classified or sensitive information anywhere outside of secure DOD systems."

> Copyrighted Material and Trademarks: "Avoid posting or sharing any copyrighted material without the license or permission of the copyright owner. Similarly, don't use any words, logos, or other marks that would infringe on the trademark or intellectual property rights."

> Privacy: "Do not post any information or photos that would violate the privacy or personal rights of others without their knowledge and permission."

> Misrepresentation and Impersonation: "Do not forge or manipulate personal identifiers in any content you post in an attempt to disguise your identity or impersonate someone else."

> "Avoid insults, profanity, libel, vulgar or obscene content, hate speech or content, threats, and illegal content."

> Honesty and Rumors: "Do not lie when interacting online, and also avoid spreading rumors."

> Endorsement: "Do not use your DoD affiliation to endorse or promote any product or service."
