DoD looking for a few good databases
The DoD's inspector general is looking for Internet database sources to help investigate and protect activities related to terrorism and cyber crimes, among other goals, according to a DoDIG solicitation.
The inspector general is seeking sources that can "quickly retrieve multi-formatted data."
The solicitation is for information and planning purposes, not a commitment from the government to award a contract. However, the Army Contracting Agency does intend to procure unlimited Internet access service to current and historical records on individuals and businesses, according to an article in Government Security News magazine.
The required data field search options include name variations, including Arab names, searches of Canadian directories, fictitious business names and unlisted phone numbers, according to the solicitation.
