DHS earmarks $389 million for emergency communications

The Department of Homeland Security has chosen Booz Allen Hamilton, General Dynamics, SAIC and SRA International to provide scientific, engineering and technical support to the National Communications System.

This interagency group is in charge of some cybersecurity functions and coordinates national security and emergency preparedness communications.

The four contractors could share in some $389 million during the next five years, and provide project management support, strategic planning, technical analysis, training, emergency operations support and coordination and necessary equipment purchases.
