Davis: Thanks but no thanks to cybersecurity job
How quickly things change in Washington, D.C. Three days ago, former Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA) was rumored to be the leading candidate to be the nation's cyberczar.
The next day, he took himself out of the list of potential candidates.
"If I wanted to stay in government, I would have stayed in Congress," Davis said during a panel discussion at the National Press Club. "I was lucky enough to leave Congress undefeated and unindicted," he continued, adding that he was happy in his current role as a consultant with Deloitte. His appearance was reported by Internetnews.com and other media outlets that have been watching and attempting to read the tea leaves about the appointment.
Nevertheless, Davis did not completely rule the job out.
"You never say never," Davis said, declining to say whether he had been interviewed for the position.
Well, that sure leaves one good job still open, and promises by the Obama administration that it will be filled shortly. Anyone willing to wage when it will be filled?
