SPOTLIGHT: Data.gov gets a starring role

Data.gov, now in its beta phase, is moving onto "government-wide execution." The timing couldn't be better, as the Obama administration issued a memo on Tuesday telling federal agencies to post more data on Data.gov about what their agencies are doing. It's all part of President Obama's commitment to transparency. Data.gov's enhanced site will encourage federal agencies to migrate their data, thus giving the website the teeth to handle a major increase in data, not to mention traffic. Article
