UPDATE 6/27/2010: A substitute amendment version of the Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010 was approved unanimously June 24 by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Also, Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.) introduced June 16 a companion House bill (see House chart), also called the Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010.

UPDATE II 6/27/2010: Senators Kit Bond (R-Mo.) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) introduced on June 24 the National Cyber Infrastructure Protection Act in competition to the Protecting Cybersecurity as a National Asset Act. "Now is not the time to give the Department of Homeland Security more responsibility, as some of the cyber bills out there want to do," said Bond while introducing the bill on the Senate floor.
