Audio: VanRoekel, Park and agency IT leaders discuss the digital strategy

The day prior to the event, Federal Chief Information Officer Steven VanRoekel and Federal Chief Technology Officer Todd Park announced the federal digital strategy in New York City. The May 24 event served as the D.C. launch of the strategy, said VanRoekel.
The federal CIO and CTO's remarks were followed by a panel discussion moderated by AOL Government reporter Wyatt Kash. The panel included:
- Michael Byrne, chief geographic officer at the Federal Communications Commission;
- Sheila Campbell, director of the center for excellence in digital government at the General Services Administration;
- Rick Holgate, chief information officer at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and
- Richard Spires, chief information officer at the Homeland Security Department.
