On September 2, the Department of Veterans Affairs hosted a press call to provide an update on VA's long-term automation of the Post 9/11 GI Bill program, as well as an update of the Basic Housing Allowance part of the program. Roger Baker, the agency's chief information officer, and Education Service Chief Keith Wilson spoke about the transition to the new system and the disadvantages of the legacy system.
