Federal agencies will be asked to do "more with less" when it comes to information technology spending in the coming fiscal year, said Federal Chief Information Officer Steven VanRoekel Feb. 13 during a call with reporters on the day the White House released its request for fiscal 2013 to Congress.

"In order to be innovative in a flat or declining budget, we must manically focus on rooting out waste and duplication in government IT," he said.
