Audio: GSA Administrator Martha Johnson on efficient acquisition, sustainability
The General Services Administration is taking on a more consultative role in assisting government clients with acquisition, said an agency official during a March 15 press briefing at IRMCO in Washington, D.C.
Upgrades are also underway to make aquisition systems--even the enduring GSA schedule--more customer friendly and integrated, said Martha Johnson, administrator for GSA. She said GSA is encouraging clients to transition from a mentality of buying products to using services. The products and services GSA provides government customers are becoming more energy-efficient and sustainable, as well, said Johnson.
