Audio: FEMA Administrator's Nov. 7 Hurricane Sandy update


The Federal Emergency Management Agency has as of Nov. 7 disbursed $286 million in individual assistance to those affected by Hurricane Sandy, FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate told reporters during a Nov. 7 press call. Scroll down to the media player to listen to the call in full.

The bulk of that assistance has been in rental assistance, Fugate added. As of earlier in Nov. 7, about 295,000 people had registered for assistance with FEMA.

On the call were:

  • FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate;
  • Charley Shimanski, senior vice president of disaster services at the Red Cross.
