WASHINGTON, DC - At midnight July 2, the U.S. General Services Administration launched a revamped USA.gov to improve access for the American people to vital citizen services. The citizens' online gateway to their government features increased usability, new mobile applications for on-the-go instant access, and the fastest, most-comprehensive search function for government information.

"Revamped with direct input from the public, USA.gov leverages cutting-edge technology to provide faster, easier, more innovative government services directly to the American people," said Dave McClure, GSA Associate Administrator of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies. "Through mobile apps citizens can leverage government information to make decisions affecting their daily lives, whether checking airport wait times in line at the airport or scanning a bar code at their local store to check for food and product recalls."

The revamped USA.gov website, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, offers a one-stop shop for government information.  Highlighting the most requested government services and information, the new website showcases a host of public engagement platforms including, government challenges, public dialogs, and performance dashboards. USA.gov's new state-of-the-art search engine is nine times faster than the previous website and helps citizen's navigate through government information with "related search-as-you-type" function.

Initially featuring the following 17 mobile applications, USA.gov anticipates expanding the number and invites the public to share feedback on apps they would find useful by using government information available on data.gov and usaspending.gov. The USA.gov mobile apps gallery features: Product Recalls, USPS Mobile App & Tools, MyTSA, USA.gov Mobile, NIH's Mobile MedLine Plus and BMI calculator, EPA's UV Index, USDA's Foodipedia, NREL's Alternative Fuel Station Locator and Fuel Economy.gov, DoS' America.gov Mobile and U.S. Embassy Locator, EPA Mobile, FBI Most Wanted, FEMA Mobile, NASA App, and VA mobile.

GSA's online citizen gateway USA.gov provides information from and links to more than 10,000 pages of federal, state, and local government information. Information on student loans, child care, small business licensing regulations, visa information, and more are available through USA.gov.

In addition to USA.gov, GSA's Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies provides helpful information to the public through its Spanish-language online gateway GobiernoUSA.gov, kids.gov, pueblo.gsa.gov, mymoney.gov, and consumeraction.gov. GSA's National Contact Center provides phone access to citizens at 1-800 FED INFO, publications, and other programs. GSA facilitates over 245 million instances of citizen engagement each year.
