U.S. General Keith B. Alexander to Present “The Department of Defense, Active Cyber Defense, and the Secure Zone” as Keyno

Alexander, the Commander of U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) and Director, National Security Agency/Chief, Central Security Service (NSA/CSS), will provide a keynote address on Thursday, February 17 at RSA® Conference 2011 in San Francisco. General Alexander will address the information security audience with his presentation “The Department of Defense, Active Cyber Defense, and the Secure Zone.”
As the threats facing our military networks and valued information evolves, the Department of Defense (DoD) is adapting its defenses in cyberspace and improving cybersecurity while safeguarding civil liberties and privacy. During his keynote, General Alexander will discuss key DoD cyber initiatives over the past year, including the establishment of U.S. Cyber Command, and explain the DoD’s approach to active cyber defense. General Alexander will also introduce the audience to the concept of a Secure Zone.
As Commander, USCYBERCOM, General Alexander is responsible for planning, coordinating and conducting operations and defense of DoD computer networks as directed by USSTRATCOM. As the Director of NSA and Chief of CSS, he is responsible for a Department of Defense agency with national foreign intelligence, combat support, and U.S. national security information system protection responsibilities. NSA/CSS civilian and military personnel are stationed worldwide.
