Washington, DC  - TechAmerica issued the following statement by President and CEO Phil Bond in response to a list of federal technology projects under review by the Obama Administration that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released this morning.

"The technology industry remains eager to work with the Administration to address the underlying problems with federal IT management and acquisition. We look forward to recommendations from TechAmerica Foundation's Commission on the Government Technology Opportunity in the 21st Century (GTO-21), which will help the Administration realize the promise of government technology. Our companies also need more information about how and why these projects were selected - they can only help correct problems they understand. There certainly are concerns in many quarters about what data went into the development of this list, how that data was analyzed and how it was presented. Similarly, we trust the Administration understands how important it is to work with industry as the government decides how to address each of these 26 programs."
