RELM Wireless Receives Orders for P25 Trunking Radios Totaling $1.0 Million From Multiple Branches of the U.S. Military
WEST MELBOURNE, Fla., Oct. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- RELM Wireless Corporation (NYSE Amex: RWC) today announced that it has received orders totaling approximately $1.0 million from several different branches of the U. S. Military, all of which are for the Company's KNG P25 trunked portable and mobile VHF and UHF radios including related accessories. It is anticipated that the orders will be fulfilled during the fourth quarter of 2011.
RELM President and Chief Executive Officer David Storey commented, "It is exciting to follow-up our recent order from Australian Defence Industries with some substantial trunking orders from our U.S. forces. These orders are from military segments that have not previously purchased our products, further expanding and strengthening our footprint with the U.S. Military. The defense and military market segments are an important part of our strategic growth plans. These orders further indicate that our new products and their value are increasingly being recognized by prospective customers. We have also successfully established other new relationships recently with agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Veterans Administration. We intend to build upon this momentum moving forward."
