WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- “Business Roundtable welcomes the House Republican ‘Plan for America’s Job Creators: Empowering Families, Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs.’ As unemployment remains high at almost 9 percent, a serious plan to create jobs for American workers is overdue and we applaud the House Republican plan to strengthen America’s business environment.

“The plan contains several recommendations that represent a step in the right direction. Addressing the unprecedented number of pending regulatory requirements is one of the most important actions Congress and the Administration can take to free businesses to create jobs. In addition, the enactment of corporate tax reform and the passage of the South Korea, Colombia and Panama Free Trade Agreements are also vital to continued economic expansion and the creation of well-paying jobs for American workers.

“Business Roundtable looks forward to working with policymakers and the Administration to ensure economic proposals remain squarely focused on instilling long-term fiscal discipline and spurring economic growth and job creation,” said Business Roundtable President John Engler.
