New USDA Rural Tour website
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is launching a Rural Tour to get ideas from people in small towns on how to strengthen rural communities.
To go along with the actual tour, the agency is launching a new Rural Tour website, to give the public an idea about what they are hearing. This virtual project, like many others being developed in the Obama administration, is designed to engage the public and deliver transparency.
"It's much more than sending a tweet or feeding blog content through Facebook. We're interested in sharing information beyond traditional press releases and finding out what people have to say, as well," said Amanda Eamich, USDA's acting director of New Media, on the announcement.
